CRISAN Beauty was born from the personal journey of Ariana Selvaratnam, a devoted mother of seven children (five daughters and two sons), where long, healthy hair holds deep significance for the entire Selva Family. After the birth of her second daughter, Ariana struggled with severe postpartum hair loss that left her feeling insecure about her hairline.

Due to an increased demand for her husband's organic coconut oil for Sam's Club and Costco, she relocated with her husband, Jett, their young daughters, and in-laws to Sri Lanka to build a state of the art organic cold-pressed oil factory. While there, Ariana's mother-in-law shared ancient Ayurvedic remedies, teaching her to craft natural oils that strengthened her hair, rejuvenated her scalp, and promoted remarkable growth. Within months of daily application, Ariana's hair transformed—becoming longer, stronger, and vibrantly healthy. Inspired by this profound change, upon returning to the United States after two years, Ariana and Jett launched their first hair oil product, which quickly went viral among their community.

The heart of CRISAN lies in its ethical roots and commitment to uplifting others. As the only U.S.-based company having owned a coconut oil factory in Sri Lanka, the Selva Family built their facility in the remote village of Nattandiya under immense hardship, relocating their entire family for two years. Jett, with his father's guidance, chose to establish the factory amid a impoverished community lacking basic infrastructure like roads, transportation, or medical access. Motivated by his father's own experiences of poverty—stories of hunger eased only by tying wet cloths around stomachs—they aimed to create lasting change. The factory provided jobs for 200 families, offering fair wages, equal opportunities for men and women, and hope for a better future. Roads were eventually built by the government, blessing the village, and the Selvas made a heartfelt promise to these families: to fill the factory with orders and sustain their livelihoods through unwavering dedication to quality.
